Sentigral Blocks

Blocks is Sentigral’s project to truly bring control of AI power to the masses. It’s a construction kit for AI tools.

We’re building the Blocks system now, with the aim of making it as easy to work with AI as it is to work with a spreadsheet.

A block is an functional unit, usually an AI model, that can be connected to any input data, from a file, a live feed, or another block, and can likewise output to a file, feed or block.

You can connect Blocks together to make Towers – AI apps – which can run locally on desktop or mobile hardware, or can be accelerated with an Engine Block – a connection to external hardware like AWS or Fast.ai.

Key principles in the development of the Blocks system

  • It should give you access to all the world’s available AI models, both the open-source and the chargeable ones, selectable through menus, searchable, and quickly addable with hotkeys.
  • It should let you route the output of one block to the input of any other, and split and merge the routes.
  • It should give you a multitude of ways to view and control the data, with the underlying model staying consistent whatever control or view you are using.
  • It should be available on any device, and be able to use the processing power of that device or any other that’s available to you, and the extra remote compute power should be abundant and fairly priced.
  • You should be able to create your own Blocks as easily as possible, and share or sell them, or buy them from others, and you should be able to do the same with Towers made up of those elements, and for interface elements like views and controls.
  • You should be able to connect any external input, be it a live data stream or a set of files, from any source, and do the same for any output.
  • And once you’ve made a Tower, it should be exportable as an app for any platform, to run with or without external hardware acceleration.
